Drug Interactions of different Xanax bars

• Other Central Nervous System Depressants: Different types of Xanax bars contain alprazolam, which is a central nervous system depressant. Combining it with other drugs such as psychotropic medications, anticonvulsants, ethanol, or antihistaminic can cause severe adverse effects as these drugs are also CNS depressants.
• Digoxin: Combining alprazolam with digoxin can cause acute digoxin toxicity.
• Imipramine and Desipramine: If a person takes alprazolam with imipramine or desipramine, the levels of plasma concentration of these two drugs increase rapidly.
• Fluoxetine: Taking alprazolam with fluoxetine, half-life, and concentration of Xanax increase speedily.
• Propoxyphene: propoxyphene also increases the half-life and concentration of alprazolam when taken in combination with Xanax.

Oral contraceptives: Combining Xanax and oral contraceptives are not advisable as it can cause adverse effects for the user.
